Thin Places

God beyond
Thin places.
In unexpected places: God.
God center stage
Breaking through
God in the silent spaces
Breaking through
In the unnamed builders of shalom.
In compost, manure, and the tiniest of seeds
The smiles of the hungry receiving God’s garden
In waves at the beach and bells in the ocean breeze
God in family of blood and adoption
In community drawn together in ice and snow for the warming fellowship of sisters and brothers.
together in rain to receive a fall harvest.
in the community of love that says, “be who God created you to be”.
in the touch of another as peace is shared.
God in small bodies and expressive fingers,
in restless spirits and inquisitive minds.
God in clothing donated and sold—treasures found at a price that can be paid.
Centers of gravity.
No distance between heaven and earth.
Disorienting.
God center stage:
In bread broken and shared from a basket large enough to feed the world with a cup given to all.

The Unknowable. The Ever Present.

I'm a writer,
a mediator,
a pastor,
an educator,
a lover of the arts,
a wife,
a mother,
and on occasion,
a pot stirrer.

The experience of being part of a holy moment is deepened when we prepare.
Repression breeds violence.
